Shannon Sharpe Embroiled in $50 Million Shakedown Claim as Damning Tapes Surface – ESPN Future in Doubt?
We’re looking at a very interesting case unfolding right now involving Shannon Sharpe, who we know is a former NFL player and is arguably at the apex of his media career. It appears Sharpe might be facing a significant shakedown attempt from some sort of Only Fans girl, allegedly demanding a massive $50 million.
The lawyer representing this individual is Tony Busby, who we know has gone after other celebrities before, though usually unsuccessfully. Sharpe’s lawyer, Larry J. Davis, has also released statements.
Now, we’ll just say it appears Shannon Sharpe has a particular taste in women. He’s 56 years old, and according to the lawsuit, this accuser was only 20 when they began dating in 2023. Other reports say she’s 19. That’s younger than his youngest daughter. Frankly, if he wasn’t being promiscuous and fooling around with these types of women, none of this would be happening.
Things escalated quickly with the alleged release of certain materials. An astonishing recording purportedly exists where Sharpe threatens the accuser. He is heard telling this woman, “I’m going to choke the ish out of you when I see you“. We believe based on this recording that he is capable of aggressive acts like that. The lawsuit also alleges another aggressive act where Sharpe grabbed her by the neck and told her he would “end your life” if she shared her location. We think that threat alone, if he gets fired, is going to be the reason.
Sharpe has denied the accusations made by his ex-girlfriend. He has countered by claiming she’s trying to score a major financial settlement from what was a consensual relationship. Sharpe’s lawyer released several spicy text messages allegedly sent by the accuser. These text messages are wild and frankly, they basically prove that they had a degenerate relationship. Some of the content includes requests for a dog collar, wanting to be choked during sex, references to “baby gravy,” wanting his baby (which we assume is for money reasons), and wanting to “tongue punch his log cutter”.
However, the accuser’s attorney, Tony Busby, claims Sharpe’s lawyer lied about the accuser and misrepresented those text messages. Busby also claims that an “incredibly damning video” does indeed exist. Sharpe responded to this, stating in a video that this is a shakedown orchestrated by Tony Busby. Sharpe claims Busby targets black men, although we believe it’s more about targeting anybody with money. Sharpe says Busby will likely release a 30-second clip of a sex tape edited to make him look guilty and play into stereotypes. Sharpe asserts the encounter was consensual, happened during the day at her invitation, and was a deliberate setup coordinated by her and someone named Gavin, also known as Carly on Only Fans. Sharpe has challenged Busby to release the whole video, which he says is about 10 minutes long.
According to Busby’s office, back in February, they contacted Sharpe’s office, leading to mediation. Multiple conversations took place over more than six weeks. Ultimately, Sharpe, represented by a different lawyer at that time, made an “incredibly significant offer to settle”. However, the accuser refused this hefty sum, wanting more money. Ultimately, they wanted $50 million.
This case is breaking right now. It’s coming out at a time when it can inflict maximum damage and create a situation where he is maximally financially incentivized to settle. We know Sharpe is on the end of his contract with ESPN and reportedly has a “$100 million dollars on the table right now”.
ESPN’s stance? An ESPN spokesperson declined to comment when the Daily Mail requested comment from them.
We’ve seen Sharpe in the news for controversial tapes before. Not that long ago, there was an audio livestream of him and a woman that went out on his Instagram. He was fine after that. ESPN let that tape go. But now, it appears there’s going to be another tape out there.
Look, we don’t think that he engaged in anything non-consensual based on the evidence we see. He is innocent until proven guilty. But we absolutely believe he engages in degeneracy and that he shouldn’t be fooling around with somebody that young who is basically, let’s be honest, a whore for money. What did he think was going to happen?. You’ve just got to stay up off these women. These people will ruin your career.
Frankly, this doesn’t look good for him. While we don’t think he did anything non-consensual, we believe that won’t matter to ESPN, and we think this will severely damage his career. His podcast will probably be fine, but we would be willing to bet you that Shannon Sharpe will be put on leave and ultimately fired by ESPN for this. We don’t think ESPN, which is owned by Disney, is going to keep him around. Dude should know better. He has everything to lose.
We’ll see how it shakes out, but right now, it doesn’t look good for Shannon Sharpe.
