Teen Hospitalized with Life-Threatening Injuries After High School Stabbing in Northern Virginia
We are covering a story out of Virginia that appears even worse than the case involving Karmelo Anthony. It’s an incident not widely covered by a lot of influencers or certain groups like BLM types. Some, like RC Maxwell, even posted calling out others for not covering it, despite posting only seconds after it happened, in what seems like an incredible self-own. We pride ourselves on covering bad things regardless of who does them – whether it’s white males, black males, or trans individuals. We aim to be unbiased.
This terrible incident involves a fight that took place between 16-year-olds at a high school. The fight began between two brown individuals, presumably Latino. One student lost the fight. In response to losing, he took out a knife and inflicted several puncture wounds on the student who won. This was not self-defense, but an act of aggression and an attempt to take the other kid’s life.
The 16-year-old student was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. We saw the video of the fight, and it was very dramatic with a lot of fluids lost. The student was rushed to a local hospital with critical injuries, but is now stable and recovering, which the police chief called a sigh of relief for the community. We saw pictures showing about a pint of this student’s fluid on the ground.
The assailant is a 15-year-old student. He has not been identified publicly. He was taken into custody and charged with malicious wounding. Police recovered a knife at the scene. The knife is described as a “stabby knife”. It wasn’t a box cutter or cleat sharpener. It looks like a folding knife, perhaps 3.5 inches, possibly under the legal limit. We believe he brought this knife to school, probably anticipating the fight.
Fairfax County Police Department is handling the case. The incident occurred just before 9:45 a.m. local time. A school resource officer rushed to aid the wounded student. Fairfax County police Major Elizabeth Melendez announced the charge of malicious wounding. We question why he isn’t being charged with attempted homicide, given the severity of the injuries and the fact he clearly brought the weapon with him. The third student involved in the fight, who jumped in to help, was questioned but is not expected to be charged.
Video and images of the fight circulated among students. Parents were frustrated by a lack of communication from the school district about the incident and confronted Fairfax County Public Schools. One parent, Bill Beal, yelled at a school representative named Reed during a press conference, stating he didn’t care about things like lunch access and only wanted to check his daughter out. Reed responded that the building was being secured. We don’t understand why parents would be mad at the school when they should be mad at the parents who sent their kid to school with a knife.
Fights happen in high school, especially between guys, and now girls too. When we were in high school, which was the biggest in the state at the time, fights happened often, but nobody brought weapons. Kids seem different these days and have no regard for anyone’s life. Pulling out a knife like that means you are trying to take the other kid’s life.
We are seeing a lot of people considering homeschooling because of incidents like this. This is why we support offering tax credits to families who homeschool. We also think there should be tax credits for people who don’t have kids, because we’re tired of paying for the public education system. While some argue private schools would become “junky” with tax credits, that’s not how it works; people would sacrifice for a safer environment. However, even those places aren’t always safe anymore, looking at incidents like Nashville. It’s also happening in suburbs now; this incident in Frisco involved a student whose parents were rich.
What is going on with youth in America is very sad. We don’t know if it’s related to something like g*********** culture, although that’s been around for decades. Kids have been losing their lives in fights in places like Oakland or Compton, but now it’s moving into the suburbs. As the famous line from Friday goes, you use your fists, you win some, you lose some, but everyone goes home. Nowadays, people are trying to kill each other.
People argue against metal detectors or resource officers in schools. But currently, we often don’t have them, and this is what’s happening. Kids are being put in harm’s way, partly because some are unwilling to implement measures that might make someone feel targeted. The fact that the assailant is getting only a “bogus, ridiculous, malicious wounding charge” suggests he likely won’t serve significant time. We hope this report is informative.
