Did Twitter shadow ban Gina?
People are having trouble finding Gina Carnao’s Twitter account, according to a new report.
No. Per MMA Mania — a blog of the SB Nation network — Carnano’s Twitter account has been somewhat hidden. When you search for her on Twitter, the account doesn’t show up immediately.
I tested this out using a separate Twitter account and could not find her account during an initial search. You have to move over to the “People” tab to see her account.
Twitter said that this is actually not the case and that the “shadow ban” concept does not exist.
- “We do not shadow ban. You are always able to see the tweets from accounts you follow (although you may have to do more work to find them, like go directly to their profile). And we certainly don’t shadow ban based on political viewpoints or ideology.
