Oops. They did it again.
Former “That’s So Raven” star Kyle Massey has been charged with a felony in the state of Washington and is accused of sending sexually explicit photos and videos to a 13-year-old. He was charged with communication with a minor for immoral purposes, according to court documents.
The lawsuit filed June 14 alleges that between December 2018 and January 2019 Massey, who was 27-years-old at the time, sent sexually explicit content via Snapchat to a 13-year-old girl identified only as MR in court documents. The felony charge stems from a 2019 civil lawsuit the girl’s mother filed in California that was later dropped by her lawyers because “Massey didn’t have enough money to make the case worth it.”
At the time, Massey issued a statement through his lawyer Lee Hutton denying the accusations.
“No child should ever be exposed to sexually explicit materials, and I unequivocally and categorically deny any alleged misconduct,” the statement read according to People.
The mother alleges Massey met her daughter in 2009 when she was 4 years old, and according to Variety and People, the former Disney actor kept in contact with the child and her family because she was interested in pursuing acting. According to court documents, Massey sent an Instagram message to the minor requesting she add him on Snapchat around the same time he asked her mother to let the girl visit and stay with him and his girlfriend in Los Angeles.
The lawsuit states after the girl accepted his friend request, the actor began sending a series of sexually explicit photos and videos.
Massey was scheduled to appear in court for an arraignment Monday, but he failed to show up, according to court documents.
USA TODAY has reached out Massey’s lawyer.
The actor is scheduled to appear in court again on July 12 for an arraignment.
