Tim Pool Shakes Up White House Briefing Room, Puts “Fake News” On Blast
We were thrilled to see Tim Pool take the new media seat at the White House briefing this week, a truly great honor. Introduced by Caroline Levit, who described him as a political commentator and media entrepreneur with millions of followers and a very big platform, Tim’s presence was a testament to bringing new voices into the White House to cover important events.
Levit highlighted Tim’s work hosting shows like Timcast IRL and The Culture War, focusing on critical topics such as free speech, censorship, identity politics, and societal change, and engaging with diverse guests. His appearance in Washington was part of a local media row, showcasing the administration’s commitment to expanding access.
Stepping up to the mic, Tim wasted no time, asking Caroline Levit about the mainstream media’s pattern of latching onto “false narratives”. He specifically called out examples like the “Very Fine People hoax,” the “Covington smear,” and the recent situation being dubbed the “Maryland man hoax”. This individual, identified as an MS-13 gang member and designated foreign terrorist with a restraining order from his wife, was repeatedly referred to simply as a “Maryland man” by much of the media.
Tim also directly addressed the unprofessional behavior of numerous outlets that “disparage” the companies and reporters being given access through this new media initiative, asking about future plans for expansion.
Caroline Levit’s response was absolutely spot on. She welcomed the diverse viewpoints and new faces in the room. Crucially, she championed the need for unbiased journalists who truly care about the truth, facts, and accuracy. Levit directly confirmed the administration’s stance on the “Maryland man” story, stating they were always correct that this individual was an illegal criminal, an MS-13 gang member, and a designated foreign terrorist, emphasizing it is despicable for the media to portray him otherwise.
Predictably, seeing Tim Pool, a figure who doesn’t conform to their norms, in the White House briefing room caused an absolute meltdown on Twitter. He was trending, with many focusing obsessively on his attire – a zip-up jacket and his signature beanie. Critics called it embarrassing and disrespectful.
Some even tried to paint him as a hypocrite by comparing his casual wear to the suit he wore when meeting with President Trump. Tim’s response was perfect: he intentionally did not dress up for the “dirty smear merchants” in the briefing room, reserving a suit for important meetings like with Trump. We completely agree; why should he dress up for a room full of liars, thieves, and frauds?. His influence comes from his platform and audience, built while dressing the way he does – that’s who he is.
While some critics trotted out old, dismissed claims about him accepting money from Russian state media, these are easily seen as “cope” from those unable to attack his substance. What truly matters is that Tim Pool walked in, dropped facts, and made the Legacy Media press squirm in their seats by calling out hoaxes right to their faces.
Watching the reaction and the exchange unfold was worth the price of admission. It was a fantastic moment to see new media challenging the established narratives directly in the White House.
