Sirens and car alarms interrupted Kamala Harris just moments into her closing argument speech of the 2024 presidential election.
The embarrassing moment for the vice president was gleefully clipped out and made viral by the official War Room account for former President Donald Trump’s campaign.
‘Just a few seconds in and Kamala’s already getting drowned out by sirens,’ the account boasted on X.
Harris walked out on stage to applause and cheers from the crowd of 75,000 people that filled the Ellipse, a section of the National Mall that features the White House as its backdrop. But as she opened her speech, the sirens began blaring.
‘So, listen, one week from today, you will have the chance to make a decision that directly impacts your life, the life of your family and the future of this country we love,’ she told supporters over the deafening roar.
Trump fans were quick to joke about the unfortunate event, using it as an opportunity to attack her with just seven days from Election Day.
‘I’d rather listen to the high pitch of the sirens any day of the week,’ one person wrote.
‘Get used to that sound if kamala wins!’ another person wrote, seemingly implying that crime will spike if she is elected.
‘Sirens warning us all about how bats**t crazy she is,’ a third wrote.
Harris’ crucial last pitch to voters was delivered from the same spot Trump spoke at on January 6, 2021, when he encouraged his supporters to march on the Capitol to overturn the 2020 election results.
The striking contrast in images is what Harris’ campaign was going for, saying they picked they location deliberately.
‘Donald Trump sat in the White House, watching as the violence unfolded on television,’ Harris said.
‘He was told by his staff that the mob wanted to kill his own vice president and Donald Trump responded with two words: so what?
‘And that’s who is asking you to give him another four years in the Oval Office?’
